ETON International School-Quezon City Grand Launch

What a better way to successfully reach out to kids is to expand your horizons. Thus, this is what Eton International School aims for. They have launched their second branch last November 26, 2011 at Heroes Hill, Quezon City. The place used to be a headquarters for JUSMAG (Joint United States Military Advisory Group), a venue to reorganize Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and train its officers and personnel under the RP-US Military Bases Agreement. Presently, it was renovated and now a campus of international students for primary education.

Branded as the "school of the future", Eton provides a school where learning is more continuous, more relevant, and more adaptive. Located at a 3,200 square-meter community site, the school will start their classes on December 3, 2011 from preschool to middle school.

Shakers and movers of Quezon City graced the grand launch that night with Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte as honorary guests. They are considered to be exemplary of high virtue of service and serves as a great inspiration to the youth. Also in the event is another honorary guest, Miss Korina Sanchez, ABS-CBN Broadcaster.

"It is not an accident that we found our new home in Heroes Hill, Subdivision, with streets named after World War II heroes and a community of distinguished residents, including Sen. Jovito Salonga, QC Rep Bingbong Crisologo, the late TV host Joe Quirino, journalist Armando Malay, Partylist Rep Satur Ocampo and his wife Bobbie Malay, economist Winnie Monsod, contractor F.F. Cruz, and painter Jose Joya.

She added " Given the rich history of this place, I am confident that this will be the school of the future leaders and heroes."

The school is complete with 20 learning style facilities and 10 Multiple Intelligence (MI) outdoor adventure zone. The school uses an international curriculum called Universal Design in Learning that allows children to have equal access and opportunities to learn and thrive in the 21st century.

Eton also awarded 10 boats to its adopted organization, Philippine Funds for Little Kids, through Jay Jaboneta, the group advocate, fire starter and chief storyteller.

A trip to ETON International School

Most of us experienced the "traditional" set-up of schooling. The second home we usually refer to becomes monotonous and gets boring at the same time, unless there will be cool teachers and friends who could save our day. Plus, we have to survive that almost half of our lives. Kaloka 'di ba?

On the other side, most parents questioned themselves like: Why am I frustrated with my child's learning pace?Why do I feel impatient to teach my own child? How can my child raise his grades? How can I successfully raise my child?

It is important for parents and teachers to raise questions like these to properly address their concern with the child. And here's where ETON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL comes in the scene.

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Miss Joy Felizardo (Gastronomy by Joy) to be part of this Blogger's event. Yes, my first time to be invited by such and I got giddy about it! Before heading to Eton, I Googled and did some researching. According to their website:

Upon arrival, I was welcomed by grade schoolers and was ushered to the main lobby and was happily welcomed by Miss Jacqueline Marzan-Tolentino, the founder and president of Eton International School. We were also presented with a simple dance presentation by the kids of Eton =)

We then proceeded to the classrooms starting with the Grade School classes.

Notice the teacher to students ratio? Yep, that's like 1:10 kids per class! Talk about being focused.

The last part of the event was for us, bloggers, to take an Evaluation test and to see whether we are Global or Analytic type of persons. This test can help teachers, also parents and guardians, to know more about the personality of their children. This tool can help improve how we could help them grow successfully and how they can enjoy schooling through fun learning, helpful mentors and loving families. And that is what Eton International School is proud of, they have been practicing these modern techniques for seven years now!
