SYKES Asia, being memorable with their grandest year-end celebrations, they once again staged the most grandest Mardi Gras-inspired party for their Philippine employees! 


Staying true to their commitment of supporting work-life balance, they made sure that every employee of SYKES will truly enjoy the night. The party started with a parade of colorful and festive floats, with dancers and musicians grooving to the beat of samba! 

Even the Vice President for Philippine Operations for SYKES, Mr. Dean Van Ormer grooved with the beat as he danced on top of the grandest float on the parade. He also gave out SYKES shirts while aboard the float to the viewing bystanders.

Hosted by Grace Lee and DJ Tony Toni of Magic 89.9, everybody was having a blast that night, and it was just starting! Thrilling samba beats by Groove Manila and Gruppo Tribale's made the night more festive! And of course, I was surprised with what I've learned --- Urbandub will be playing!! Swear I, and even the SYKESERS, had the most exhilirating time of their life! 

  

SYKESERS donned their most glamorous and most creative costume that night. Indeed that they are truly a bunch of talented and beautiful people!

The most anticipated thing that night? the raffle draw! Two lucky SYKESERS will each win Php 50,000 --- and another two more luckier SYKESERS will each win a hefty Php100,000!

WF Reviews: Arya Persian Restaurant

My first time to dine at a Persian restaurant. Looking down at the menu, I was dumbfounded, really. Ack! What to order?!

Good thing that we have someone who's familiar with Persian dishes. Thanks to Miss Rizalina, guided us with what to order.

She told us that for starters, it is best to try their "hummus" -- a Levantine Arab food dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic.

Hummus. Served with 4 pieces of pita bread. Ask for a slice of lemon and squeeze it.

We asked what are the bestselling foods they have. The nice waiter told us that we should try Lamb Biryani -- a set of rice-based foods made with spices, rice (usually basmati) and meat, fish, eggs or vegetables. The name is derived from the Persian word beryā(n) (بریان) which means "fried" or "roasted". (Unfortunately, Lamb wasn't available that time so we opted for Beef Biryani.)

We also tried their Migu Tanoori -- Roasted jumbo shrimps marinated in delicate spice and yogurt with Tanoori sauce served with Persian bread, Basmati or Biryani Rice.

Had a full stomach after that. Definitely we'll be back and try out their other dishes! We even had a complimentary dessert: Persian Halva.

ETON International School-Quezon City Grand Launch

What a better way to successfully reach out to kids is to expand your horizons. Thus, this is what Eton International School aims for. They have launched their second branch last November 26, 2011 at Heroes Hill, Quezon City. The place used to be a headquarters for JUSMAG (Joint United States Military Advisory Group), a venue to reorganize Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and train its officers and personnel under the RP-US Military Bases Agreement. Presently, it was renovated and now a campus of international students for primary education.

Branded as the "school of the future", Eton provides a school where learning is more continuous, more relevant, and more adaptive. Located at a 3,200 square-meter community site, the school will start their classes on December 3, 2011 from preschool to middle school.

Shakers and movers of Quezon City graced the grand launch that night with Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte as honorary guests. They are considered to be exemplary of high virtue of service and serves as a great inspiration to the youth. Also in the event is another honorary guest, Miss Korina Sanchez, ABS-CBN Broadcaster.
