Flower Stories Cafe

This post is dedicated to the 8k+ availers of Metrodeal's voucher with Flower Stories Cafe.
It seems napaka-spotty ng restaurant na ito since I can't even find a good or reliable search in Google related to this. However, what I found out about the place is that they specialize more in flower arrangements for different occasions and that they just organized a buffet in their veranda or something like that just to accommodate the voucher availers. ( Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

We availed 6 vouchers for my family in celebration of my passing for the Nursing Licensure Examinations. Indeed, it's a glorious moment in my life which I consider to be a life-changing experience. My mom and I decided to celebrate my passing with some of my relatives and loved-ones thus, availing the vouchers with Flower Stories. Before purchasing, I tried Googling for some infos related to it. Unfortunately, nothing has been found, only a flower arrangement store at the exact street address as well. Much to my eagerness to treat my family to a buffet experience at a low-cost, we go for it.

Their offer.
Days before, nagpa-reserve na kami for 6 pax for a September 3, 2011 schedule. All was well upon reservation thru call, the host was friendly naman and answers your queries. Come September 3, we made it. The dinner buffet starts at 7pm until 9pm. However we were late for only 30 minutes at ito ang naabutan namin sa kanilang buffet area:

Rice and carbonara pasta

Sushi: almost gone
Some beef viand (forgot the name) and a veggie viand
Salad area. Want some dressing?
It was disappointing since my family frequents buffet restaurants. Ang kaunti lamang ng servings nila and controlled pa ang pagkuha mo since may taga-lagay ng food sa plate mo. And kung magre-refill man sila ng food sa buffet area, isa-isang type lang food ang rerefillan and kaunti din ang ilalagay. We were expecting a bit  different from that dahil sa offer ng Metrodeal, they boasted: Flower Stories Cafe is a very well known, spacious, stylish restaurant in the heart of Intramuros. With dark flooring, rustic interior, and a scattering of international influence, it’s a fusion restaurant, mixing the styles of asian and international cuisine.

They don't also manage their guests well. Though you made a reservation, hindi pa din assurance yun na may certain spot ka na when you get there. Other guests came late (about 30 minutes from our arrival) and was asked to just wait in the patio area, standing. Some decided to walk-away since parang wala na din silang aabutan na food.

My tip for others who are planning to eat here is to go back frequently to their buffet area to satisfy your hunger. I managed not eating breakfast and lunch thinking I will be fulfilled dinnertime but to my dismay, no. I think you need to demand to the host to frequently refill their food. Also, come early, you don't want to ran out of food or worst, a table to eat on.

Hi guys! Just an update :)
Please visit other bloggers like
Laugh with God Today and The Food Wanderlust
They visited and tried Flower Stories right after my visit with them. After reading their reviews and basing my judgment with their photos, I could say that there has been a drastic improvement with their food and service. Although I haven't given the resto another chance to try it again and give another review, I believe that they can manage to gain foodistas back their trust. To Flower Stories Cafe, more power!

  2. thanks for posting these. kaloka naman yun servings, limited sya. kaya nga tinawag na buffet eh..di kayo nag demand for a refill?

  3. unusual sa ibang eat all you can restau, as per the GM kasi it's their first time to have a buffet caterings. will be there 3rd week of sep hopefully maging okay experience namin.

  4. @Lelay: Hi Lelay! Kahit yung plates lagi silang nauubusan, turns out we need to reuse our old plates to get foods again. My mom keeps on demanding to refill the food, yun nga lang limited pa din yung nilalagay nila. Naloka talaga ako sa servings, ibang-iba sa pictures ng Metrodeal. Hoping you'll get a different experience with this. Thanks for following :)

  5. thanks for sharing, di pa kami nagpapareserve. i'll wait for other reviews pati na rin kay lelay. oh well, paid na ang vouchers so pag di maganda wag na kumuha sa metrodeal. but in fairness, ok naman sa fatboy's. still hoping for the best. sana mag-improve naman sila.

  6. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully tayong di pa nakakapag reserve will have a better experience after these reviews na sana nababasa ng MetroDeal and Flower Stories Cafe. I'm taking my family, 4 of us, so right now I have to make a reservation. hmmm, they better answer...

    will be back! :)

  7. I hope you guys will be having a different experience from us. Some Metrodeal offer naman is okay pero this one lang talaga yung fail para sa akin. Share your reviews after you've eaten guys :)

  8. For those who will go there, try lunch time and not on a payday date. My officemates just went there lunch time today and the food was always filled up. The menu is limited but it taste good. Good for us 4 guys. MetroDeal is very good in presentation of their products, i.e. Gerry's Grill was advertised on another website for a month and there were only 80 takers but in MetroDeal in less than 24 hours, there are already 800+ takers . Talk about truth in advertising.

  11. My friends and I tried it lunch time. And it's the same as posted in this blog. There's no change in their foods, infairness consistent cla! hahaha...Nde tlga masarap, mabubusog ka lang sa pilit.

  12. good thing i was not tempted to buy this kahit pa panay ang extend ni MetroDeal before. i guess, for those who fear to experience frustration refund na lang your vouchers.

  13. Geez. Hindi rin pa pala nag-improve yung servings nila :( Right, mabubusog lang sa pilit. LOL

  14. hi, this might be a lesson to everyone who are dazzled by eat-you-can promos. You shouldn't expect too much especially if the amount you paid is between p200-400. From the stand-point of the store owner, he wants to make a killing especially if his price is very cheap. You shouldn't really expect too much, like this one. If you want to pay a higher price, surely the deal will be better or otherwise, the store will not have loyal customers again. I guess this store really out smarted 8960 buyers. I doubt if they will try that stunt again. hehehe

  15. Hmmmnn...Well, my family and friends enjoyed the food. Based from the comments, the service improved. The food were also good. We're very satisfied with the fast service especially fast refill of foods in the buffet table. Hindi naman nasayang yung 12 vouchers na nabili ko. Worth it naman for 199 each. Siguro nabasa na nila ang mga negative comments d2 kaya nag-improve na sila. I thought we'll be one of those posting negative comments. But it turns out that there are improvements. I hope they continue the improvements!

  16. Yes they have improve, however, the food they offer is completely in contrast on their advertisement!!! this is not International Fussion Buffet at all!!!! salad bar na walang green veegee, only carrot and labanos stick!!! soup na water base na with paminta and sobra salty, sushi na dapat i deep sa toyo and wasabi para sasarap and finally ang dessert na marsh mallow! wtf!!!! kiddie party???? i suggest u guys leave message sa FB page nila Metrodeal Philippines selling fake advertisement!!!

  17. I think people did not get the whole idea why are they complaining.... the point here is the voucher you bought was supposed to be worth 500 and the DEAL was 60% off thats why is only 200 bucks... hindi dahil u bought worth 200 and u expect 200 na worth meal, it should be 500 bucks and another one is photo on the advertisement, with Prawn, Lamb Chop, Prime Ribs.... and none of the above-mentioned food was served, even hebi (small dried shrimp) wala nga.....

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have to agree on that. This is indeed a scam for us availers. We expected a P500 worth of experience, yet mukhang mas tatalbugan pa ito ng mga karinderya nearby. This is awful. Nasayang ang pera lang natin. Nakakainis lang. This serves as a moral lesson for all of us. Haay.

  19. HINDI KO NAGUSTUHAN ANG SERVINGS NILA! BLECH @_@

  20. hi everyone who loves buffet. There is another Metrodeal gone sour please read..http://www.munchpunch.com/4420/barbaras-restaurant-intramuros . Unlike other social websites, discussion will be found in the website, but for metrodeal there is none. You will be informed after you have bought rather than reading the comments before you buy.
Hope that Barbara improve their menu coz we will be going there for lunch on fri. Keep you posted.

  32. hi! we were here last September... Flower Stories was not as bad as we expected. we posted a review and some pictures here:
    http://budgetdates.blogspot.com/2011/10/food-flower-stories-cafe.html

the Metrodeal pictures and descriptions are inaccurate though. honestly, i don't think it is really worth 700 (regular price?!).

  39. jaz ate at flower stories tonight.. i can say that they have learned their lesson.. they already made their foods taste better.. in fairness, i'll give them a passing rate na.. masarap ung java rice, ung soup, ung pork teriyaki, ung pasta.. ung beef something di maxado pro pwede n.. ung california maki, di na pipino lng ang laman.. they also have onion rings, fried fish fillet, veggies, and salad, and different kinds of sweets.. and the trays were filled up nmn, ung iced tea lng tlaga ang 1 glass.. i'm not one of the staffs, 1 din aq s mga ngbuy ng vouchers.. it's good lng na we arrived early, and matagal before nmin inavail ung voucher, kc ngkaron ng result ang mga hinaing nyo..hehe

  40. gee. wish i reviewed before availing of the vouchers.. just hope they have improved a lot now. will post also for everyone's benefit. wish me luck :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hindi ko agad nabasa yung reviews kanina. Metrodeal had already sent me an email with the reference number. Wag ko na lang kayang bayaran?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thank God I didn't purhcase the voucher! Sorry Flower Stories Cafe, my first impression from your previous customers will last forever. Whatever sweet talks and improvements other people are claiming, I will not believe it. In the first place, if you decided on making a business from the start, you must have made a sufficient service but as to what I saw, your service from the beginning was insufficient and now it is just average not even reach the level of excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  43. DONT BUY THIS! JUST TRIED TODAY, THEY STILL SUCK BIG TIME!

    ReplyDelete
  44. WHAT IMPROVEMENT!!! WE WASTED OUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS EFF PROMO! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, SANA SA TURO-TURO NALANG KAMI KUMAIN MAS MASARAP PA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I was here yesterday and it's not worth it. The food is really not that bad but their one round of iced tea tastes like water with red food coloring and a little bit of sugar.... FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! The metrodeal ad says that food is valued at 700! oh come on! if 150 pesos ang price nila cguro pwede pa. So deceiving! There are much better restos who charge 250 for their buffet. Might as well eat in Kamay-Kainan Kalayaan branch for the same price coz it has lots of food to choose from, airconditioned,a much nicer place and with real dessert..not a bunch of wafersticks and marshmallows dipped in choco. Flower stories cafe looks a bit cheap, not air-conditioned kaya ang init if ur going to eat between 12-2 pm. Another thing was that we were charged 40pesos parking fee for an hour stay by the tambays outside. We just gave them what they want coz baka saksakin pa ako.haha. Squatters area near the place. Maybe they should just move to a nicer and safer area since super laki na ng kinita nila with the thousands of people who purchased the voucher and lower down their price or just make their 250 price reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I went earlier today (lunch time) with my bestie. I was a bit wary due to the negative reviews from blogs and all, but I can assure you that the food were delicious and worth the Php250. Don't expect 5 star dining and all people -- it's Php250...and the area is not surrounded by slums (as some people mentioned), it's in a residential area but not slums (we walked from Manila Cathedral to there [yes, walking distance] and we were quite safe [maybe because it's lunch time - I don't know]). I wish it could be more spacious though ~~ I just want to share that the food was delicious and the staffs are friendly and attentive. And I was reading other blogs as well, the false advertisement lies more with metrodeal since they were the ones who put it up. People be reasonable Php250 for a buffet - okay na rin. It might not have lived up to some people's expectation but it's quite reasonable.

  47. Is there a way to refund? I'm now hesitant to bring my balikbayan relatives there,i don't want them to get disappointed.. I feel sorry, i wasn't able to see these comments earlier..

    ReplyDelete
  48. Guys, be reasonable. Some comments seems like wala lang masabi, utak talangka baga. Anyways, I also bought vouchers to try it. Admittedly, I was not able to see this blog earlier and im also hoping that I have seen this prior my purchse. With mores hopes that they have improved since we're coming from the province for this food trip. Oh well, wish me luck!
